Georg Arnhold Senior Fellowship 2028 — Education for Sustainable Peace
About this opportunity
The Georg Arnhold Senior Fellowship promotes education for sustainable peace, with a particular focus on educational media and curricula at secondary-school level in all regions of the world. The program is run by the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media | Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) in Brunswick, Germany, which conducts research into the production, content and appropriation of educational media for schools in their socio-cultural, political, economic and historical contexts. The fellowship offers outstanding and experienced individuals in peace education the opportunity to focus on a research or practice-related project, centred on educational media of all kinds, through a six-month research stay at GEI. The program's principal objectives are to bridge the gap between theory and practice in peace education by bringing together scholars and practitioners; to respond to the need for decolonial approaches to peace education research and practice; and, through its publications, to render findings and experiences freely available via open access publishing. The Senior Fellow is expected to take responsibility for the intellectual and conceptual design of the program's annual conference in collaboration with the coordinator, and to present their project at the GEI research colloquium. Outcomes should be published no later than one year after the fellowship ends, preferably as policy papers, educational materials, research papers or a larger publication. The working language is English.
